One of my best girlfriends, who is also a lawyer, recently posted this on her Facebook page:
I am is suited, pantyhosed, and ready for battle. I find it hilarious that I always wear a black suit for cases I feel strongly about. It gives me that serious attorney vibe. Let’s hope the arbitrator has discernment and wisdom today.
Clearly my girl was rocking her “power suit”! This prompted me to pose the following question on Twitter: “What do you wear when you want to feel powerful?”
ShaiUnfiltered tweeted: “Bright colors and jacket with Dianne Carroll shoulder pads”
Corporate Fashionista tweeted: “An outfit that fits well, comfy and appropriate for the occasion!”
For me, it’s a combination of all of the above. A “serious” skirt suit in a dark color with a splash of something – either brightly colored shell and/or a statement piece of jewelry. The suit itself MUST be comfortable – so it’s likely from Curvy CEO affiliates Lane Bryant or IGIGI.com.
What about you, dear readers? What do YOU wear when you want to feel powerful?
